bombay beach

Strange but great documentary about people living in a californian desert near a salt lake, that has seen it´s best days in the 20ies. Images of decay, depression and the beauty of ruins are combined with the stories of 3 protagonists in diffenent ages. The only thing that is somehow frightnimg is to me, in what way this docomentry was staged. If you ignore this – and this is more kind of a rechnical question – you can see poetic szenes, I´ve rarely seen in a documentary.

When the old man talks, it´s like William S. Burroughs is still alive.
The music by beirut and bob dylan suits perfect. See it in fsk or downstairs filmcafe in berlin.(OV)
