Southern Journeys – Part one: The Devil´s got a Home in Georgia


Here is the first part of my southern journeys: old blues, swing & new orleans gospel of the 20 to the 50ies – the first part of an imaginary Mixtape:

The Cover Photo is a part of Alan Lomax´ Southern Journey LP (“I´m so glad when the sn goes down” out on Mississippi Records. I took 2 short tracks from the 5 Southern Journey LP´s, one Prisoner Chant and a radio speaker excerpt in the end of the second part of this mix, still to come but tried to compile my own southern favourites. (without being too scientific about the origin of all tracks)

So here is the first part:
