Jazz Came Dressed Like Introspective Echoes of a Journey

jazz

Inspired by Matana Roberts amazing new album Coin Coin, Mississippi Moonchile and the reissue of Full Moon Ensemle´s spoken words interpretations of Bob Kaufmanns Poems, this is, after the first Spiritial Jazz mix around 2 years ago, another short journey into some of my beloved spiritual jazz tracks . It fades in with a 1927 New Orleans Tune and ends with two folk tracks by Elizabeth Cotton, reissued right now as a 7″ and a jewel from Shirley Ann Lee´s Songs of Light.

I sing because im happy
i sing because im free
Mississippi is a beautiful place.
