La Vie d´Adèle

(Blue is the warmest color / Blau ist eine warme Farbe, A.Kechiche, 2012)

The winner film of Cannes 2013, 3 hours of pure emotional images, adapted from the graphic novel by julie Maroh. The explicit scenes are never simply voyouristic pornographic, in no second boring, extremly slow and epic, reminding of the 60 and 70ies nouvelle vague experimental films. Overwhelming, beathtaking and in men-dominated france, where a majority is still fighting agains gay or lesbian marriages or child adoptions, more than necessary.

Hopefully there are follow – ups of “La vie d´Adèle part 1 and II”.
In Berlin finally in cinemas since last thursday.

“Er lässt jede Szene sehr oft wiederholen, das kann unglaublich anstrengend sein. Er will, dass du die Maske fallen lässt, er will an deine Seele. Als Schauspieler musst du dich bei ihm ganz fallenlassen. Ich fand mich in emotionalen Zuständen wieder, von denen ich vorher nichts ahnte. Ich weinte, war hysterisch und oft kurz vor dem Zusammenbruch”.
